Rain sensor on C203

Hi,

I have read the previous posts relating to rain sensor problems but when my wipers are in position 1 they are on constantly with no rain (same as position 2). I've washed the windscreen with water. Any ideas before I take it to the garage?

The fault could be in the OCP where the sensor sits, the auto wiper should only work when the beam from the spot on the screen goes out of focus, as it does when rains hits it, plugging into STAR will confirm what is wrong

Are you sure that that option is fitted to your car?? they are option code 345 and this should be printed on your cars data card which is on the last page of the service booklet.

Even if they are not rain sensing, wouldn't position 1 be intermittent?

sounds like the sensor to me, replaced many for this fault, but get it checked on comp before you buy any parts

Yes as MB Tech above, there are variants but can only be checked on a MB dedicated reader
