Hi, can anyone please advise. I recently bought this estate (2010 model 45k miles) and just drove around my village for the first couple of weeks with no issues. Then at the weekend for the first time I did a 2 hour motorway drive ending in a spell on a dual carriageway during which the car started beeping in short series seemingly randomly. There were at times no other cars near me and no accompanying warnings on the dash or parking sensor lights showed up - driving felt unchanged. On the way home on the motorway this intermittently happened again - sometimes 3 beeps, sometimes 5 and the once a long 10+ series - but then it stopped altogether once I hit the A-roads in the last part of the journey. I can't find anything in the manual (although I don't really know what to look under). I'm still very unfamiliar with the car and have no idea if there's wrong or if these are part of settings for various road / driving scenarios? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't sound right, you might be able to switch most of the systems off one by one in the menu system and narrow down which one is causing the problem.

Was happened to me, coming from navigation, when by mistake in my case, I’ve marked the vehicle position on the map by pressing the selector, sometimes passing an POI already marked by previous owner etc. After updating the maps, never happened again.

I wasn't aware the car had Satnav! How do I find out / access it, please?

If it's got SatNav, and if it's the Becker Map Pilot satnav module plugged in the glovebox, then it can be set to generate a bleep-bleep as you approach traffic hazards (AKA known speed camera locations).

Looks like it could be an expensive journey:p my Becker will do it. some time ago my other half rang me from several miles away. Something continually beeping in the car, you better come and collect me. Anyway, with the help of her phone on whatsApp it turned out to be that the dashcam SD card was full:oops:-it is not set to loop
