I own a 94 C250 and there is a rattle inside the centre of the steering wheel, it sounds like possibly a small bracket is loose.

Bearing in mind this is where the airbag is housed.

a) Is it easy to remove the front of the steering wheel cover without the bag going off.

b) Is there anything I should look out for when replacing the cover.

Hi Steve,

Probably the easiest way to carry this out and safest. Is to remove the battery lead. Wait 5mins. You should also remove disconnect the red block connector situated under the nsf foot panel. Removing the battery lead should suffice though. Then remove the two torx screws situated at the back of the steering wheel which secure the airbag. Remove the conector. The steering wheel is held on with a 10mm allen key bolt. Tighten this back to 80Nm.
