The load area cover for my 2015 E-Class Estate makes an annoying tapping noise when driving around my local rutted and potholed streets. It doesn't happen on smooth roads. I can see the handle end of it flapping when it happens and the noise is almost certainly coming from that.

I know – I can just leave it open, but I want to keep it closed/covered. Is this a known issue and is there a known fix?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I guess its the lugs in the recess making the noise. A bit of rubber in there to absorb the noise.

Have you got extenders on the load cover dangling down on string. It could be them bouncing of the panels as you drive.
