Hello again,

I have a rattling clunking sound when i start to pull away or when the engine is labouring, it sounds a bit tinny if you know what i mean. it doesn't happen when just idling even if i give it some revs, it also happens when i'm reversing.

There's no vibration to be felt through the car when it makes the noise!

I don't know if there is some crap in the Cats.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this?

My car is a 126 500SEC

Exhaust heatshield or something similar? Can you get a friend to reverse for you with the car on axle stands, while you have a snoop under the bonnet?

Yeh i was thinking it could be the heat shields, i'll have a go at reversing with the wheels of the ground.

And also is a "parrot of doom" a kind of cat with a coloured face or just a made up thing?

The rattle noise has gone, my starter motor stopped working so i got it refurbed, you know the toothed bit of the starter jumps out to turn the flywheel then goes back in when the engine has started, well it was very loose and i could move it in and out with my hand, so it must have been this.

Well how about that, it hasn't rattled since!

Just to let you guy's know.

Cheers
