Hi all,
I have a Mercedes C180 2002, The problem..
I have a rattle/ clonky sound from suspension/ under the engine when driving over uneven roads.
If I drive over a large bump it does not make the sound.
It as if I only get it on uneven road surfaces.
Has been for a service and sounded good for a day then it came back..
Is it bushes etc.

Also my handbrake has just been services but now does not come fully off so I still get the red light of, is there a spring to adjust..

thanks

Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
Could be the drop links, very cheap and easy to replace, less than a tenner per side.

I agree with Parrot on the drop links, Re the parking brake,if it was OK before the adjustment I would have said that its been over tightened.

I had exactly the same problem for a long time, told it was just hard suspension, replaced the drop links first, no better, tracked it down to the two, front anti-roll bar bushes. Big problem on the early W203's is that dirt and dust get in the bushes and wears them out really quick. I got the new replacement bush kit which comes with little rubber boots to keep out the dirt from my local Mercedes Stealer for about £25, drives like new now.
Jerry.

I did the job myself so I only paid for the new parts, two new bushes, four little rubber boots and two new cast alloy brackets, all for under £26 inc. VAT.
Easy job to do,
Jerry.

Hi Jerry, If you get the time could you post a step by step guide on how to do this (with pictures if possible)? It is a VERY common problem so I think a thread on how to fix it would be very popular.

Thanks
