rattling cat on 2001 S320 petrol

One of the cats is rattling on my 2001 S320. My trusted local tyre / exhaust experts think that this is an MB only unit, anyone got any experience of replacing with none - MB exhaust parts.

They are suggesting around £600 plus vat for the O/S/F cat only, does that sound reasonable?

Replaced mine 18 months ago on the 1999 S320 at local indie, cost about £325 including fitting. Got one quote from MB dealers at £850.
