Does anyone have any suggestions / experience and/or contacts for re-upholstering a dash?

I have some minor fire damage on a 2002 SL500, and airbag was deployed - so some tears too, and considering the ridiculous price MB wants for a new one, I need to consider having mine re-upholstered. Can't be that expensive, can it?

Also, does anyone know anything about dying stitching? Is it possible to dye the stitching reliably from white to black? Does it last? Any good products / experiences anyone?

Thx

Martrim in Cheshire are an excellent outfit. They replaced and restitched the plastic window in my TVR. They also do complete refits and retrims, they're ****** good at it as well. I suggest you give them a call, take the car to them, and see what they suggest. I doubt its going to be as expensive as you think, as they'll be able to match whatever colour you have.

Where are you in the UK?

Best London outfit is Frank Dale and Stepsons in west London. They did a repair to one of my seats and can tackle anything

Hey Mr Falconer : you seem to be my main penpal :) (you answered on my other post too ). Thanks for all the contact details, hope I can help you out sometime too.

I'm in Surrey.

Thanks Parrot to you too.

I'll try them both. Bound to get some good advice at least.
