Hello all,

I have a slight knock (feels like a bit of play) in the rear end, especially on unsettled roads.

My first thought was the anti-roll bar on the back and it's linkages

Is it hard to replace these and would I just need new drop links?

Cheers

Is it just a noise you hear?

The SEC i just bought was making a horrific noise at the rear. Changed the links to the anti roll bar and completely cured it.
Also changed them on my SE after that due to a slight noise, and the whole car feels better at the rear, as well as being silent over bumps.
I'd recommend changing the links, its so easy anyway, literally about 15mins per side.

The links on both cars felt okay to me when i grabbed them for wiggling to see if they felt loose. But obviously were shagged.
I wouldn't have believed such small inoffensive items cold make so much noise.
Dealer price was cheap for them too.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
You have to wriggle them quite hard as they are under pressure from the roll bar

As soon as I receive them I will replace the rear drop links.
