I have got a Merc C220 Cdi Nov 02 and Have found the bood lid is rusting from the inside out on the opening lip. I have been to Merc dealers and had photos taken and paint depth taken which were all correct, nearly 2 Months later after a number of calls to Merc Warranty they tell me they needed more photos taken. so I went to the garage and more were taken, the dealer said that the boot would probably be repaired and resprayed, I was not happy for this age of car to be reparied so I Requested a new Boot Lid. I had to now wait for a decision from Germany, and a number of phone calls later ( people on holiday and sick and no one else able to deal with it), eventually after 6 weeks I had a call to say the car would be going in to have a new boot lid fitted at a local approved reparier, whom are known as not a very good company, They offered me a courtasy car but it was a VW Polo of Vauxhall Corsa !!! Im not happy taking a Merc in for repair at this garage and getting a Much Smaller car.
I do not find this acceptable from a Mercedes Dealership and asked for an alternative garage.

MB are footing the bill. Whoever this garage is, they are clearly MB approved which is normally the sign that things are fine.
If you're not happy with them, you can refuse to book it in and request that they redirect you to a dealer with their own bodyshop I guess.

As far as a loan car goes - chill out - it's a free motor. Technically they don't have to lend you anything. That said, I normally explain to the dealer that I do a lot of motorway work so please make sure the loan car is a C class or above (no smarts please). Often adds a week or so to the delay but so what? The last time my E240 went in, they lent me a shiny new E320 cdi - top spec. Fell in love, couldn't get it out of my head, and 6 months later, overspent on one for myself.
So, be careful what you wish for!

They do have to provide a loan car as it is part of the conditions of the mobilo life warranty T&C's.
