It is not it as you say, if I buy parts from a motor factor and they came down the same production line but go into different boxes, then I am using original parts. Thats why the government brought the act into play, if you want to pay double for the same thing, then you are either filthy rich or stupid in my eyes, and only wishing to pick an argument.

Telly

Obviously £21.24 for ATE and £25.34 for Genuine MB is double the price. But then again it is me that is stupid and filthy rich!!!!! Richard oh sorry Malcolm

You use away at your NON GENUINE MB PARTS on your SL. I will make my own choice and use the genuine part thank you.

Shame you cant read either, they come down the same production line.

Are you also the kind of person who spends £250 on a MAF filter when you can buy one from the makers for £58 obviously you are, so its a waste of time talking to you.

People Like TMD and bendix can now advertise the fact that they made it in the first place

Richard

They might possibly have came down the same production line but they are not double the price.

And please explain what a "MAF filter " is never heard of one of those before. LOL LOL

I will leave you to have the last say (and another post to your many)

Very sad to say that the rear brakes on my SL are in fact made by ATE.

230k I agree with Malcolm, if the discs are made in the same factory by the same people, I'd rather pay less. For most other things, such as o-rings, air filters, oil filters, I'll always use the MB dealer.

I'd just like to add that I'm going to buy some EBC pads as well, since I changed the discs I've thought about it and they did look a bit on the thin side, so it can't hurt.

I have been using the green ones for 6 years and they are good.

To 230K, you have corrected me on a few things, and that pleases me. Cant we please just have our own views on this matter, its not that important, is it.

I think everyone is entitled to their own view. Some people prefer Bosch to origional Mercedes parts, but Bosch make many Mercedes parts and you can buy the origional Mercedes part which is actually made by bosch or you can buy bosch for less money. Its a crazy world:eek:

My SL uses ATE rear brakes though its only been 19k miles ,so I do not need anything yet, but when I do, I can drive a 60 mile round trip to get MB parts or my local factor will deliver free with a 25% discount, all for the same pats.

Sure you pay your money and the choice is yours alone
