Rear Door Gas Struts for 1982 230TE

I need to replace the 2 rear door gas struts. Apparently the real merc parts cost about 50 UKP each, does anyone know if there are other "off the shelf" struts that will do the job?

GSF (German Swedish and French) or Euro Car Parts. Budget about £13.50 plus vat each. Beware they are extremely powerful. Your likely to get a bump on the chin the first time you open the tailgate.
