Hello everyone,

The question is about CLS 500 W219 2006, as the title sates, the doors will not open from inside until the car is locked (I mean once the car locks itself after starting to drive), I have to manually press the unlock button for the rear passengers to be able to get out, or I need to get out first. Additionally, the windows from the rear seat buttons will not open, the only way they open is from the drivers side main panel - this sounds like a child lock of some kind, but there is no typical button/switch on the side of rear doors which I've seen on YouTube that you use for the child lock to activate (even though the rear seats do have ISOFIX points). Is my child lock system just taken out?

I'm a recent owner and unaware of anything having been done to the rear doors from the previous owner.

Thanks in advance.

There may be a switch, possibly by the drivers windows controls that can turn off the passenger window switches. (led would be on). There are little levers, mechanical switches in the rear doors to stop passengers opening them. Move them to the other position..

Thank you for your responses. As I've said in my initial opening, there are no little levers, mechanical switches in the rear doors that prevent them from opening, in the places where they should be - are just small holes. The main driver side window controls have the extra button that shows a sort of window crossed out (which one could only presume means to lock the windows), the light does not seem to be glowing, indicating that it isn't active, though, when I press it nothing happens either. So I'm assuming that the button in question (the window lock) is not working, and that the mechanical door lock lever is taken out for some reason. Thanks again for your responses.

That button deactivates the rear windows so those in the back can’t operate them.
