Rear facing baby seat install on ML320

Sorry if this is a duplicate. I am new to this forum, from the US. I did a search with no luck.

I am trying to attach the child seat tether on my rear facing child seat. The ML 320 has no tether attachment points for a rear facing child seat. Has anyone else run into this, and any solutions from Mother MBZ?

ON a seperate note, whats the deal with the matte black finish on the window trim coming off? Looks real tacky. We just bought a NEW from dealer 2001 model, and its all coming off. Sales guys said, no problem we will take care of that when we took the vehicle (4 weeks ago)..Now the dealership is giving us the run around saying its not a warranty item...Feels more like a Dodge dealer than a Mercedes dealer right about now.

Note, we don't have the 3rd row seat, we are installing the child seat in the middle of the rear seat.

We dont (yet) have the upper teather on our UK car seats - we seem to prefer ISOFIX as a more secure fixing system (which uses the visible hooks on the rear of the seat cushion on MLs) than "held in by seatbelt".
1 or 2 manafacturers here have introduced isofix seats with the top tether on their vehicles (renault I think)

You could use the metal clips that are about 1 foot behind the rear seat backs on the middle of the boot(trunk) floor, they hold the 3rd row of seats in, so Im pretty sure they are very secure. In fact, I think those are meant to be the tethers. Why dont you ask the MB dealer ??

PS, Isofix is for forward facing car-seats. I have no idea where a rear-facing seat top tether may be fixed- ive never seen one
