I drive a four year old S Class. Recently the left rear spring failed and was replaced. Three weeks later the right spring failed and was replaced, Both repairs cost a great deal. I wrote to Mercedes saying that I did not consider this to be fair wear and tear. They disagreed.I could not get a 'goodwill' payment as the repairs were done by my garage which is not registered with Mercedes but services nothing but Mercedes.
I hasten to add that the vehicle has not been subject to rough conditions. I understand many such springs have been replaced in the past year. What to do?
