Rear indicator issue

Some of you will know ive had an indicator issue which i thought was down to a dodgy bulb holder in the OSF drivers head lamp but another holder did not cure the problem however i noted today that the OSR indicator bulb is slightly less bright when operating so i cleaned the contacts and tried the holder from the opposite unit , stiil the same , it looks like theres possibly earth issue with the rear unit so can someone advise where the earth is so i can test my theory

The bigger brown cable on the loom ..... seems that they can have an iffy connection where it makes contact with the light unit which makes them get hot & potentially burn the contact out

The same issue also plagues BMW's

The earth wire burns out at the plug.

The normal fix is buy a new one from Mercedes but the best fix is to make the earth directly to the earth track on the bulb holder.
