Rear light not working on slk 170

My rear light are not working both sides, have checked the fuse and the bulbs are okay. any ideas were else to look ?

Look for burn marks on the bulb holder connections.

Have you tried checking that you are getting a supply of 12v using a multimeter across the contacts, if not try between one of the contacts and somewhere on the chassis that is bare metal if so it could be a bad earth
