Rear luggage Cover motor, very noisy.

2005 E200. When I close the boot and the rear luggage Cover goes back, the motor, very noisy. I have tried spraying grease into the springs? that move it down into place, but still no better. Any ideas?

I will have to take it apart and grease it up to see if that helps, but it sounds awful even outside of the car.

If the motor is noisy, why are you greasing the springs? They are going to be dirt magnets.

The motor is hidden under the headlining in the centre, it’s a pita to get at as most of the rear needs to come apart to give you access, noisy motor is likely on its way out, my old 211 did the same and eventually did give up. Greasing the motor did give it some life for a while but stopped again pretty quickly
