Rear Mud Flap Clips.

I hope this is the correct section. Her indoors has dislodged a rear mudflap from her 2004 c class estate. It is still attached as are the two clips. However, I am contemplating signing myself into a home for the bewildered with regard to refitting these clips. I cannot for the life of me figure out how they work. Am I, as per usual, being very silly or is there a method for doing this please?

Sorry. I must have ticked something that should not have been ticked.

Just a glance at the diagrams shows me where I was going wrong. I didn't realise they were in two sections so now know what to do. Mine our locked solid together so a soak in WD40 should release them. Many thanks, I really appreciate your kind assistance.
