My 2006 C class estate has a milky white line at the rear of the rear screen on the black-out like its delaminating. Its across the whole width, right at the base of the glass, and is about 5mm deep

I'm not hugely bothered by it and can't say it was that noticeable but anyone else experienced this and would it be covered under warranty do you think (and then worth the hassle of getting it done)

you could try the warranty route, problems quite common but not on an 06.

My concern would be that its probably moisture /water damage in which case if it freezes quickly it could be liable to cracking , sorry to be a harbinger of Doom , Paul

its a fault so irrespective get it sorted under warranty. As has been said, this is normally caused by damp so it could well be a symptom of another more serious problem.
The dealer will sort it FOC anyway to not to worry.

With glass issues I have been told previously by my dealer that glass is only covered for 3 months! It depends on how and why it is failing I guess however I wouldn't accept it.
I'm taking mine in on Thursday as the radio reception fails when the rear demister is on. They say it could need a new rear screen and need it most of the day to fault find on it. I will see what they say the.

I will be raising it along with the non-functioning heated LH door mirror and if they want to get funny I'll be returning the car under the 30 day, no quibble guarantee. I'm a reasonable chap usually until riled and then I'm just an *rse until I get my own way

I would expect it to be reasonable to assume that this kind of fault would not occur on a car 2 years old. Therefore it should be dealt with by Mercedes.

If it was 5 or 6 years old, that maybe a different story, but I would expect them to look into it even then!
