Hi
just purchased my first Merc. When playing with the rear seats I managed to move them forward but they will not go back to increase legroom. They are solid in position with no movement, when I lift the lever immediatly below the seat, they rock back and forth by about a CM, but seem to hit against something solid. Could it just be a case of lubrication as this is a 1999 car or do I need to do something else?
Thanks in advance
Barry

Rear Seats (A-CLass)

Hi

To move rear seats forward - there is a lever at the base of the seat, nearest the door, not directly underneath it. Pull the lever up and the whole seat will move forward with slight pressure. Pull again and the seat will move back, again with a little directional pressure.

If you want to remove the seats altogether, first have the seat in the furthest back position, then pull the lever near the top of the seat (on side of the back-rest) and the seat back will fold forward. Pull the lever at the base of the seat nearest the door and the seat (now folded) will flip forward. To remove, pull the lever directly underneath the seat, and the seat should lift out. Fitting is by reverse procedure.

Important: Double-check everything locks into position if you remove rear seats altogether.
