Hello there.
I've got a '98 E class estate and the rear speakers aren't working. Also the radio won't pick up MW. (Small gripes I know but otherwise she's perfect ;) )

I'm assuming that the rear speakers have gone. How easy would it be to replace them myself? If I wanted to upgrade the front speakers could I do these too?

Any ideas on the radio trouble?

Thanks all.

Re the speakers have you tried the balance/front rear fader, were they working once ?

Re the FM/AM two different circuits in the radio, no point in trying to desribe as can only be fixed by a repair man.

Thanks Television.

Yes, they worked when I bought the car 2nd hand a few years ago.

It came without a stereo, so I put in the one had in my previous car. It has 4/45w output. I think my teenage son may have blown the rear speakers soon after..

Probably best if I get a pro to look at it, then.

If its only the speakers, then they will need replacing what ever you do,if its the rear amp chip, then along with the other fault it would be cheaper to replace it.
