Hello, i need help.
I have a 1997, C220 D estate, and accidentally i discover that i can put the reverse speed in two different positions. The right position is the one we pull up, push left and push to rear. The new one is where the 6 speed gear-box has the 6 speed, push right and push to rear.

Has anybody had this kind of trouble ? or knows why this happens ?

Something is out of alignment - probably just an adjustment issue.
Thank you for your atencion, jberks. what do you mean "out of alignment", one of the gearbox shafts ? or on the gear shift selector ?

Hello, my problem is now solved.
I went to a Mercedes garage, and they had foud the problem. It was the shift selector, outside the gearbox, that's damaged. A simple problem with simple and cheap solution.
