Can anyone tell me if they have had a problem with an unseated spring. My car is a 2001 c200k and the clunk noise i posted in an earlier thread is still happening, but after me and my dad did some closer inspection it seems as if the noise is almost certainly from the rear right spring, there is no signs of breakage or fracture, but i have heard that a spring can become unseated, i assume this means it has moved slightly. Any ideas, remedies, before i take it to a garage again. Thanks Pt

Its most likely a broken spring (probably at the end on the last coil so you cant see it). Becoming a very common problem and its a relatively cheap fix provided you keep away from main dealer labour rates.

Thanks Robbo, It does seem like a common problem, i will get it looked at again (not at dealer), Should this really be happening at 50k miles? I don't think so, MB should do something, recall or something, but i suppose that cost money, why pay when they can rip us off! Thanks PT
