Hi all
Can any of you tell me what is involved in dropping the rear subframe of a manual '92 190E. I know that the subframe mounting bushes and the rear shock absorbers are worn (advisory at last MOT). There is also a bit of 'looseness' in back end becoming noticable. The car has done 165,000 miles so I suspect it could do with a complete re-bush of the rear suspension. I reckon that if I remove the rear subframe I can do the whole job more easily and quickly.
Also, has anyone renewed the rear subframe bushes without using the special tool and if so how?
I'll use the Spitfire while the Merc's in bits so it's OK if the job takes me 2/3 week-ends to do.
Thanks in advance.
