Rear suspension compressor failure

Got the yellow warning message on my 37k mile S213 and dealer tells me it’s the compressor that’s failed. A 1400 quid fix apparently ( just before Xmas ). Seems early for such a failure and I seem to remember people got some Mercedes contribution , I’m just wondering if the huge cost is inflated to make me think that a 50% contribution is a good deal or am I being unduly suspicious?

I would be tempted to get a second opinion from a good MB indie if you have one near..
Is the car showing signs of a failure or is it just the light on ??

I remember there was a problem with early W213 estates with water ingress into the pumps electrics perhaps you should put a search into the internet and on the forum and yes MB did contribute most of the cost

2017 W213 E220 Estate rear suspension dropped/fault

Tried to pop out to the shop last night and noticed the car was bouncing around all over the place, and then a suspension malfunction orange warning was displayed. I drove it back home and noticed the the rear was sat very low with the wheels under the wheel arches. I've tried t get it booked...
