Hi hoping someone can point me in the right direction. For a while now have had an annoying rear suspension issue, when travelling over uneven roads ( not dirt tracks) I have a dull, thud like sound from the rear. I have recently replaced tyres, shock absorbers, and drop links. But still the problem exist the springs under inspection seem OK, so what else might it be. W204 CDI 200. #gettinganoyed.

Exhaust pipe ? Something in the boot like spare wheel or loose jack ?

Have looked at those possibilities and would say no. The noise effect is there every time I travel over a bump in the road and it sounding is like the tyres are under inflated which there not. I was thinking it was more likely to be suspension ie worn rubbers but where

Start by checking the condition of the subframe mounts, get underneath the car with a torch. Then strut mounts, and arm bushings.

This^ the rear subframe front mounts commonly fail, giving a dull thump over rougher roads
