Failed it's NCT(National Car Test here in Ireland) equivalent to MOT.
One area it failed was for Primary Structural Corrosion on the nearside rear top suspension mounting where it fits upto the chassis. NCT tester suggested plating it, but how is it removed, as we opened a bolt which we thought went all the way through to Chassis, no luck, bolt does not go that far up
Any ideas on how to plate it so as to pass re test??? Another area for failure was a rusted brake pipe on front drivers side, which is routed to ABS unit on passenger's side, can this pipe be cut out & new section spliced in :?: :?:

All info greatly appreciated as always

fit a complete new pipe - not just the bit thats rusty... if the pipe has gone, its probably all gone. dont muchk about with brakes. the pipe is very cheap (like 8 quid for 25 feet... http://www.automec.co.uk/frame_set.html for example)

re the suspension - i take it you mean the top mount for the damper?

looked at the epc and it looks pretty standard - just needs a bit of interior covering / liners takign off i guess... you have to be able to get to the top nut!
