T212 facelift, 2013. A few toys including pan roof, 19" rims, Harmon Kardon, nappa, privacy glass.
have a e320 210, 2001 estate. in the cold weather yesterday I was overjealous with the water jets for front and rear screen. They are heated (front for sure anyway) and the tips were frozen so I tried a lot to squirt water to clear.

The result is the pressure popped off (I believe) the pipes from their fitments. Fronts are a doddle, but how about the rear. I put the rear squirt on and it trickles, motor is going billy ho as it's not pushing the full flow and water escapes from the tailgate water trap so I am assuming pipe off here too.

My question is how do i remove the interior panel to get to the pipe ????

Ni idea on the W210, The pipe on my old W124's ran from the pump on the reservoir in the wing, up the rear pillar, into the headlining, thorugh a rubber pipe/grommet and then to the jet on the tailgate. You had to remove the rear section of headlining, the tailgate trim on the inside and you could then access the hose. I had to replace the hose on all of my W124 estates....... Not a nice job, but then water gushing out of the headlining is worse..... Good luck. You might want to try the Russian VIN site (threads elsewhere if you search) to get a line drawing of the washer components to help you work out what needs to be removed for access.

Many thx TV and Motardman. That my Sunday morning sorted then :p

I'm convinced it's disconnected pipe from the jet as I can hear water rushing through the inside of the tailgate and it then pours out of the bottom of the it via the drain holes.

WIll let you know how I get on.

I'll hold you to that, as the fixes to many of thje issues on the forum are NEVER published and that makes a mockery of why we are all here...

It would be great to have a few pics of the job, if you can be bothered (I can't most of the time), just to hlep others fix the issue if they get it

Very best of luck for the weekend.

LOL. Take the pics, get them on your PC, then if you don't have it already go here for the MS Image resizer ( I assume you have XP on your PC....):

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Find your pics in Windows Explorer, right click them and select the resizer, then select the size you want them. Easy. So that is the size sorted out. Then go to www.photobucket.com, sign up for an account, upload your images. When you have the images uploaded, return to this here page wot you is typing on, start a reply and cut and paste the <IMG> tag from the photobucket page,

Like this "
e320cpe1.jpg
"

Here is the code as it appears in the box under the image you want on photobucket (ignore the stars, I put them in so the picture would not display via the code.)

[*IMG*]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v181/RS-TLS/E320/e320cpe1.jpg[/*IMG*]

into your post (Use ALT+TAB to switch between this forum and photobucket, CTRL+C to copy the selected text, and CTRL+V to paste it into your reply.

You should then have a message with your expert guidance on how the washer was reconnected, adorned with the pretty pictures you took, and stored on photobucket.

I am not sure of the water jet on your car and how it fixes,,if you cant see any visable means then it slides in one direction and lifts out the same as the repeater lamps on the wings

I'm hoping.not expecting to remove the jet, more reattach the water pipe which was pressured off by trying to force water thru it whilst the end was frozen. With the inside trim of the tailgate off (appears to be 4 screws) it should be straightforward....now that really was the kiss of death:).

Cheers for the photo instructions, still looks complicated but sure if I follw the step by step it will be aok, if not....I'll soon shout :D

All done. As suspected the front pipes had simply removed themseles from the casing (2 minutes). The rear was more interesting, the pipe was still attached but on the rear of the housing was a hole where the water was escaping from rather than through the housing and out the jet. Assume there was a 'plug' of some description but this had disappeared. When I put my finger on the hole it worked aok.

....so, in the absence of a plug, I got an old valve cap -the cheap old plastic variety, not a smart one like yours Malcolm;) and cut a small groove so it slotted on the outside all the way up, nice and snug. I them dabbed a tiny piece of silicone around the edge to ensure water tight and once this dries will test again tomorrow - but pretty confident.

Have taken piccys and will post up a step by step as removing the interior rear panel was not obvious (though not mechanically difficult) and this will certainly make it easier for other have a go but no idea people, like me.

Thanks to all for their help. Out of interest for a joke I dropped past MB dealer for a quote for the job and they indicated about £150 labour + any parts which would most likely be a new rear jet mechanism. My cost...one old valve cap (free) and about 5mm of black silicon already sitting in the garage.

As I say will post piccys and step by step later this weekend but though you may be interested in an update.

Hello Adam and welcome to the MB forum

The rear panel is only held on with the plastic clip, 62 in the link, there are special tools for un clipping these with out damage to the card backing, they are just a flat blade with a U or V cut out the lifts the clip out of the door, and not the clip out of the card.

You have to remove the wiper cover and any handle escutcheon
