I would recommend Forth Auto Electrics, (Bert Ganley) Block 3, Elgin Street, Dunfermline. Tel. (01383)736994.
Cover all mechanical and electrical repairs. Modest premises and don't actually classify themselves as MB specialists but certainly know their way around the marque.
Latest job they did for me today, both sides bottom suspension balljoints - not the easiest job on a W124 - fit new front spring - likewise - and fit front brake pads. Total cost INCLUDING new spring and VAT (I supplied the balljoints and pads) £174.00. Dropped the car off at 9 a.m. and picked it up at 4 p.m. They called me during the procedure to tell me about the broken spring and they had to go to Perth, a round trip of around 30 miles, to get one. Good service, good work and a very fair price.
Yes, I appreciate you purists would have a pair of springs fitted but I have to run to a budget and anyway it must be a tad better to have two sound springs than a pair in three pieces!
