Decided to install Satnav in my W204, but would like some recommendation for an installer in Essex.

Halfords are quite widely advertised, but would like other owners experience.

Who is recommended, and who is to avoid please?

Any particular reason why I should avoid Halfords?

Their SatNav prices are quite competitive, but would be keen to know peoples experience with them.

I see that they also sell a wiring kit for those people brave enough to attempt a self-install.

It’s the lack of training and ability of the staff, that is all.
I’ve bought bits from there, I always self install though

Self install is very easy if it’s the same as a W203 model. Do you have a panel at the end of the dash on RHS visible when front drivers side door is open? This small panel where the fuses and some relays are located can be used with the piggy-back fuse on the self-wiring kit. MAKE SURE piggy-back fuse is correct way around! Wiring can be tucked in between windscreen trim to camera mounted on windscreen up behind the rear view mirror. Most difficult part was somewhere behind panel to secure the earthing point.
