Recently, I had the good fortune to meet 'Uncle Benz' (Gareth) who, very kindly, sorted out a few minor issues I had with my S-Class. Both the workmanship and customer service, were simply outstanding.

If you live/work in the West Sussex area and need work on your MB, you can do no better than by contacting 'Uncle Benz'.

David, your compliments are too kind, but I would like to point out that I am a "one man band", and currently have a dedicated and loyal band of existing customers. This means that my diary is often well booked up in advance, and any new customers may not be able to get the early attention that they desire. I am always available to give advice wherever I can, however.

Oh, I'm all embarrassed now...

Hi Uncle Benz,
Its good to know that people like you are willing to share their wealth of experience & expertise with us junior members. Below is a copy of a posting I wrote recently....can you pls advice.

I have just driven a straight6 & and V6 E320 cdi.....they drive like different cars.
The V6 seemed smoother & quicker.....the straight6 was very nice too, Just wondering what you experience Merc. owners had to say on the pros & cons of both cars. I would like to purchase an E320 cdi V6 or straight6 soon.
All comments appreciated

I like 'em both. The straight six does suffer with injector seal problems eventually, which can be difficult and costly to repair. The V6 has not yet shown a tendancy for this, although there have been one or two reported problems with some sort of intake air control valve. Not seen one yet myself, but it is a straightforward fix apparently.
