Hi there,

I have a W208 2002 CLK 320 and I'm about to do the plugs on it, thanks to Television's info.

Euro Car Parts have BOSCH SUPER PLUS FR8DPP33+ for £5.36 - are these okay (does the plus but make any diferrence?). Also spotted these:

http://cart.euromercmercedesparts.co.uk/index.php?p=product&id=156&parent=18

Which are Merc plugs for only £3.99 - but they appear to be made in France - I thought Bosch were the OEM and therefore made in Germany?

Any other spark plugs you'd recommend or any to avoid?

I also need to change out the steering damper - hoping this is an easy job too.

Thanks.

Things are made everywhere these days, and often they can have any name on them as they come down the production line

Would you know if those plugs are the correct plugs for my car? Euromerc part numbers appear to be A 003 159 81 03. Are they any different to the Bosch ones (platinum, yttrium, etc).

Best going to the Bosch web site which should have a fitment chart. The key thing is that they should be 60,000 mile plugs and not 10k ones. As for the different types I put some special NGK ones in my 240 and to drive couldn't tell them from the original factory ones I'd just taken out. I got mine from sparkplugs.co.uk but it was nearly 4 years ago. If you're going to do it yourself, good luck, its a pain of a job!

Do you know where I can get the Merc part number for the plugs in my car?

SPARK%20PLUG%20LEAD%20SPANNER%202.jpg

Is this useful to get the boots off or is it better to use boot pliers?

With coil packs always use an open ended spanner over the top of the rocker cover, and lever them off. This is the MB recommended way. then there is no risk of damaging the coil pack

Correct, its so easy to break the wires when you try and pull the cap off, as they come off with a jerk
