Hi I am a new member and ive joined for some help!
I have a 1996 w210 e300 diesel which has just developed a problem with the immobiliser.Seems if i leave the car for just e few minutes wether i lock it or not when i try to start it again both red and green lights flash alternately and it wont start. If i leave it for longer, say overnight ,it all works fine!
i have replaced the key and cut the aftermarket alarm from the IFZ unit as advised by a merc technician but it is just the same!
I do have a reasonable knowledge of cars as i am a peugeot technician but im stumped with this one!
anyone got any ideas please!! :?:

immobilser correct use

hi i have a 96 e200 and this is how the immobilser works on mine .
from locked blip remote (aiming at mirror ) get in car if car starts up fine ,if not and red and green lights are flashing then blip remote fob again which locks car and then again when you should get three beeps and flashes from indicators car starts. phew!.also after 30 seconds of engine off the immobiliser comes on, this is apparently normal .merc dealer told me they only made this type of remote locking/system for 6 months and then changes it. hopr this can be of help to you

Hi, I have been looking at all of the alarms fitted, quite a lot all doing various thing like, fuel pump, starter. when you say will not start,is it just the starter or more
If the info given by Liverpool merc does not work come back.
