Evening all,

Getting closer to buying an E350 and had a look at one online and got the VIN from the dealer. This is what came up.

I'm gonna guess y'all think that's a big no-no? But would like any opinions anyway!

Of course it's Indigo Light Blue!! Also the 265bhp variant because, well why not?

Thanks in advance!

Also, fairly certain it's not been near a Merc dealer in 50k miles, as evidenced below...

It may have non dealer history, so I'm waiting on the dealer to let me know exactly what there is!

No reason to say no - based in what you posted.

The first pic is from a generic website- just says check milage. Nothing untoward.

The second pic from the MB service website. Many of the owners here do not go to MB for service.

Dont see any issue. Ask the seller if he has copies of paperwork, look on the MOT site. Go look at the car and go for a drive.

If its a great drive and no paperwork doesnt mean its not been looked after. Likewise it could have a ton of paperwork and the day you drive it, the plug light may be on and it could have a flat.

It is a bit long winded, but I always check MOT history and then compare dates, mileage to every piece of paperwork to ensure they all tally up. If there are no discrepancies across all documents then I usually accept that and have peace of mind. If there were contradictions in the paperwork, I consider whether it could be a simple error, such as incorrect information being put into a computer by a garage technician. If there is no paperwork and a question that I cannot answer, I look elsewhere. There are plenty of cars out there with water tight SH and it always baffles me why someone would not keep a well documented history - everyone knows that it is important to have this when selling a car, so why would an owner not have all this to hand? Sure some people do not think that way, but I would like to think that today most people do think this way, especially when a car is something valuable like an E Class.

Thanks all for your replies.

I'm waiting on an answer to the service history question. For me, as long as it has history, whether MB or other, it's the one I've got my eye on.

Now just waiting for the house sale to go through and the money to arrive...

Had this with mine. Mileages on these checking sites were all over the shop and my vin therefore says the same.

Once I pulled all the paperwork from merc - Mileage clearly tracked through 4 years of mb service and latter 2 MoTs. All under the same owner according to v5 and its history.

Car is mint, clean and well looked after. Recognised straight away by local mb dealer as one they had looked after.

I
I'd check the paperwork and see how it drives etc

If its through a dealer (or private also for that matter) try and ask for a Merc indie pre purchase inspection to be thrown in. More detailed than MOT, probably around £70 and will give you peace of mind on the condition of the car now. After all, who cares if it was not loved 5 yrs ago.... The last Yr or so is more important to me at least.
Don't be alarmed by the check mileage comment. It's usually thrown up by garages not entering mileage on mot's or on v5's on change overs
