Hi there

I bought a 2003 petrol C200K Estate on Saturday, while driving home a warning message pinged up saying, 'reduce engine oil', the car had a service on the Thursday so I assumed the oil had been overfilled, I took it to my local garage where they took a litre out, I drove away then another message pinged up saying, 'Add 1 litre of oil next time you refuel', grrrrrrr. I understand that these cars do not have a dipstick and that the sensor is really sensitive. My questions are:

a) Do I just fill it up with say, half a litre of oil as it's easier to add a bit rather than have to get too much taken out again?
b) Which oil is the best to use?

Many thanks

Hello and welcome :D:D yes put ½ liter in and see, The car does need to have sood for up to 10 mins to read the correct level.

The correct oil is one that meets at least 229.1 and upwards ie 229.2 ,229.4
