REF; e220,auto jerky gear change loose pipe found where does it go please

Hi, i had lots of help with an earlier posting about a jerky gearchange on a 1994 auto e220...the problem didnt occur until the rac had crawled all over the engine bay looking for the crank sensor ...thats now ok but i have found a loose vacuum pipe that David mentioned in the last file.
it is the small white tube coming from above the gearbox housing(see pic).The problem is....we havnt a clue where it goes ,we have searched all round the area but no good help please...cheers colin

It's likely pulled off the vacuum unit on the left side (as you sit in the drivers seat) of the gearbox - 2 vacuum lines go to it and it's probably still got 1 attached.

Access from underneath the supported car is probably needed.
