Refurbing a steering wheel

Is there anyway to renew the leather feel on a worn steering wheel ona 95 W202?

Mines gone all soft and if Ihold onto the worn parts my hand gets all sticky like there something on it and at times black coloursing has transferred intself onto my hands.

Makes for interesting driving only holding certain parts of the wheel!

Have you tried using one of those soft, green and foam pan scrubber thingies.?

I use Autoglym leather cleaner on the steering wheel followed by the leather care cream. The steering wheel in the £300 Audi 80 we had was particularly grimy however flash wiped it first to kill off any bugs and get as much of the filth off then Autoglym and it was fine after that.

I would just re lacquer it, clean it down with thinners, and dab some black matt onto it

Hi,
those hand wipes you can buy in the yellow and black tub are good for getting crud off a steering wheel, and any other part of the fascia, come to that.
If the steerring wheel is faded or discloured, try Vinylkote pvc and leather dye, (Leonard Brooks 01279417501),will come up like new.

baby wipes, then leather cleaner, you can get them re=covered for abt £150.... or just get another steering wheel, plenty about!
