Hey Guys, I had my W204 2011 C220 CDI in for a Stage 1 remap last Friday.
The tuner told me that he wants to bring the car from 170HP to 235HP as it is the same engine as in the 250 CDI which also can be brought to 235HP. I told him that I want it to be a little bit softer (around 220HP) because I was still a bit concerned that it would be too much power for the OM651. I measured my car after the remap and now it "only" has 200HP and 520NM. I called him again and said that he can push it a bit higher if I want. But what do you guys think? Should I get some more HP and risk a potential damage? Or do you think that it isn't a problem.

235 bhp is not possible as the 250 CDI's second turbo is larger than the 220 CDI's .

Many fall into the trap of mobile remapping without an accurate* dyno , before and after runs are an absolute must .

Alot of 250 CDI don't even get to 520Nm as they're on the back foot with being affected by an injector change , 220 fair better .

A 250 will actualy measure as stock around 183 bhp / 460 Nm and not 204 / 500 .

I would leave it as it is , the author of the remap and dyno graph would be interesting ?

Actually I am from Germany and a few people compared the replacement part numbers and they were all the same. But nobody was able to tell it 100%... But then I still don't understand why only he advised me to go this high and nobody else?

I measured it with Insoric system, I don't know if it is popular in England also. They had some problems with the 7G while measuring it. They told me the real NM should be around 500-530NM.

It is possible to get the 250cdi engine to 240bhp, 535nm but the DPF must be removed as it creates too much backpressure. If you achieve this power level with the DPF in place it will show "phantom" high fill level readings.

You will struggle with the single turbo to get more power than you have.
