Hi there I've just recently purchased a 02 CLK230 Komp and I loved it until one morning when I started it up and it just didn't run right. I took the car to a friend of mine who runs a garage and he did some diagnostic tests and found a few things which he promptly put right for me. Job done. But while I was in he's garage I noticed a flyer on the wall about having your car remapped. Now excuse my ignorance but I didn't know what this was until I asked. Once my friend told me what it was about I thought I'd do some research into it. I couldn't actually find any mercedes dealers that do this kind of thing so I went back to my friend to get the number from the flyer. The company is called APTuning.co.uk and they are based in rochester in kent. I called the owner 'Darren' and he told me that on my car I could get more power from my car with this REMAP and possibly some fuel saving also. Great, but how much?
£300 he told me which I thought wasn't a bad price to pay for my pride and joy.
So today I took the car to aptuning and less than 2 hours later it was all done. AND now it feels like a completely different vehicle. He says the standard power is around 190bhp and it should now be around 230bhp. Well WOW what can I say I am so impressed that I thought I need to tell others about this. It really is amazing. Amazing that you and 'Darren' have the same name...yea chipping, remapping, flashing is good and can make a big difference to most cars..one of these days i'll get mine done.........

That's a very impressive increase for a petrol engine. Normally one only gets that sort of increase from CDI engines

Large increases are usually available on most forced induction engines, petrol and diesel, it is normally aspirated engines that don't see much in the way of horse power gains.

well people are allowed to have the same name you know! I knew someone would say something like that.
The power gain is good because it's not a normally aspirated engine, it's a kompressor (SUPERCHARGED) that means that these gains are very true. I even checked with he's main dealer CHIPPEDUK to verify things like who he was and if these power gains were true and they confirmed all.
I'm sorry if people don't believe me but all is true. It is after all against forum rules for someone to plug their own services when they are NOT club sponsors!

That performance increase does seem high for a Kompressor engine, I wonder how they have increased the boost pressure of the Kompressor as I believed this was only possible by utilising a pulley kit.
Are there any DYNO readouts available as I would be very interested in this for my C230K
