It came in for a little mod, that has been on back order for a few months, the Owner moved away and told me to keep it as they had bought another larger set.

I would not have bought a plasma or LCD yet owing to the power consumption of the Plasma, or the out of focus picture on moving shots on an LCD, so getting it free does offset the running cost, and for the little that I shall use it, then that will be fine.

I thought it lower consumption than a CRT TV which is 2Kw I got at the moment.

When I was on a PC round at Nantrwich, I saw the customer needed a fan to cool down the LG 40 in. LCD/Plasma they were watching. I always thought they are lower wattage consumption.

A normal CRT set consumes between 60 Watt for a portable to 160 Watt for say a 32".

Plasma sets use around 300Watt and LCD 50 Watt for a given 42"

Was crashing a truck into a wall at 56mph REALLY such a bright idea, Mr Clarkson?

...........................

The cab crumpled as the lorry hit the brick wall at its maximum of 56mph, leaving Clarkson with heavy bruising to his shin and back and an index finger like 'a burst sausage'.

Clarkson described the smash as his first serious road accident for 31 years. A Top Gear spokesman said the presenter was 'quite badly injured', although he has since made a good recovery.
