Hi
I've just bought a lovely 1991 230ce. It's a great looking car but has developed a problem with the remote locking mechanism.
When I use the remote now, nothing happens. I can use the key to open the doors etc but the vacuum pump carries on for quite a while after. I understand this will lead to failure soon.
Is there likely to be a leak to the system and if so, is there a process where I can locate the place where the leak is likely to be?:(
Thanks
Dave

Thanks Malcolm, I will start with the drivers door followed by the boot.
Thanks

The fuel filler flap actuator diaphragm tends to split.

See the unit behind cover in boot.

Cost was about £17 last time.

The CL pump should stop within about 2/3 seconds.

Hi,
If you have the thumb wheel to operate the hieght of your headlights (normally adjacent to light switch), this is pneaumatic too so worth checking behind the thumbwheel and the headlight connections.
