Remote Control Key CLK W208

Hi Guys,


I have recenlty changed the battery for the Remote control key for my
CLK320 W208.The problem which i am facing now that its not opening unless i reach the driver side door!!!! but as far as i know it should work from longer distance.


Any one had an idea about the problem and what it could be the fualt and what to check?

you probably have to resync it,

start reading your car's manual to find out how.

Most cars have RF for long distance and infra red for short, there could be something like a dry joint on the PCB in the remote

Swap batteries

Hmm just try swapping the batteries with the ones from the other key?!

Anyweb:I dont know how to resync and i didn't found any how to do it.

Television : What do u mean by dry joint i didn't get you.

Fellow: i tried but it didnot work.

First things first - does the radio work or is it that the IR is opening the car for you?
Go to the car, put your finger firmly over the window in the front of the key (to block the IR)and try it.
If it works, then the radio is working, just weakly. If so, try another new battery from a different supplier.
I've spent hours fixing something only to find that the 'new' battery wasn't as 'new' as I thought!

If that stops it working, then the radio isn't working at at all and you have a fault in the key.
