the remote control has given up the ghost!
I have to virtually touch the windscreen with the fob to get any response - usually after several minutes and much frustration!
I have changed batteries ( in both fobs), tried re- synchronising - which lets the fob work again from as far away as the side window for all of two or three times!! I have just done the digital camera test recommended in other posts - and can see a red glow in both fobs and intermittant flashing in one - the spare. The problem with the spare is that once I open the car door the alarm triggers!!!:-( So I mostly ignore that key as an option. Went to MB who said its the batteries, despite my advising I had only changed them that week! They tried it and still nothing, but advised I need to book the car in with them for a day, further testing!
What else could be the problem? The last resort is to order new fobs, does anyone know if this is possible online or just from MB in person? and what price might they be?
