Remote key/fob

Hi
I have an E220 coupe 1995 M plate, should it have a remote key/fob? there is a window sticker that states it is fitted with a mercedes alarm system there is also a key switch below the steering wheel.

Alarm Fob

I have managed to get a Remote fob, can any one explain how to sync it with my alarm system.
