I have an X reg C200 Kompressor. Over the last few weeks it has developed a strange habit.

When I try to enter it in a morning the remote key has no effect, it won't open lock or show any sign that i've pressed the remote button, (no indicators flash etc). If I come back to it again after 20-30 minites it opens and shuts no problem.

While i'm using it during the day it works without any problems.

But then again next morning it shows no sign again that i'm pressing the remote. One morning this week it was three hours before it would let me in and then it was fine for the day.

I've tried opening the door with the manual key and putting the remote in to the electric key slot, but the alarm goes off and entering the fob has no effect.

I have two electric keys, put new batteries in both just in case, problem occurs regardless of which key is tried.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

have you cleaned the inside of the remote, have you tried getting up very close and press your remote close to the windscreen "not the side windows", have you tried useing the key to get in then press the remote when your inside, if it works with the above its either a remote range problem or the glass "solar prtective glass/tint" remote signal bounsing off it

Thanks for that, I've tried all those apart from holding it close to the windscreen, which i'll try in the morning.

Yes I've tried opening with the key, getting in and then trying the fob, No joy whatsoever.

I'd think it might be a fob problem, but it only happens when I don't lock or unlock the car for several hours i.e. overnight.

Tried all those this morning-no effect.

40 minutes from the first press of the fob, it let me in, thumb now sore with pressing fob.

Can't understand why its only when left for several hours.

It appears that the problem is likely to be with the receiver and not with the remote keys. Maybe the unit is damp, or if it has an internal back-up battery (NiCad pack), for the alarm, this could be going flat giving voltage problems. This could be why it works better for a while after running the engine.

Thanks Arnie

In to main dealer tomorrow, no doubt they'll sort out the problem.

Then empty my wallet.
