Removal of spark plug leads

Could anyone tell me how to remove the spark plug leads from the spark plugs on my 1990 300se w126 please,i am trying to change the plugs but am unable to get the leads of.
Do they just pull off or are they secured some other way????

On most engines it is best to lever the caps off using a 17mm open ended spanner, just lever them off across the top of the engine, this way no damage to coil packs on anything else.

The danger with just pulling is that they come off with a jerk and damage done the other end of the wires
