My 2 lads drift and they have removed the air bags by disconnecting the plug connection.
Some just disconnect and reconnect the plug if they use the car for everyday use.
I'd be too scared to try it myself

Yeah same here I’m not sure about the explosive charge that sets them off

It sets off either from a crash or short in the connection???
Too scary for me, I have to take the airbag off my Renault because the horn is intermittent, there's some sort of connecting brass ring that needs sorting. I haven't done it yet!

I’ve removed the steering wheel airbag and fitted a wood/steel steering wheel that was pretty easy just not sure about the passenger bags

It shouldn't be a big deal removing air bags. To play safe Disconnect the battery overnight then remove in the morning.
I've removed the steering wheel bag countless times on the Smart without any issues.
Just take reasonable care.

I’m not sure it’s going to b possible to fit a glove box unfortunately as I have a door to fit but unfortunately it’s actually larger than the cover of the airbag I probably need the lower panel to make this work if I can find one the correct colour
