Morning all, having recently done some work on the airmatic pump and valve block on my W220, I'm getting an intermittent warning on the dash, when starting from cold, I can hear the pump run for a couple of seconds then it cuts out and the 'Airmatic visit workshop' warning appears.
If I turn it off and wait for the dash lights to go out and start it again it then runs fine for the rest of the day.
I have renewed the relay, and also cleaned as many of the electrical connectors that I can get to, including all the ones on the pump and valve block.
I did notice whilst working on it, that the cabling to the valve block looks like it's been twiddled with at some point in the past, and upon further inspection that there's a couple of crimped connectors on the cables that go to the pressure sensor.
I'm thinking now about stripping the wrap off and taking a closer look, but I'm unsure if I'd be able to check the continuity of the cables, as I have no idea where they terminate at the other end.
Also, is it possible to buy the actual pins that go in the connecting blocks? in case I need to change a cable that's close to one of the existing pins.

If you've found any joints you suspect are less than adequate, simply cut them out and replace with new that you will be confident with, the additional pins you're asking about will be available somewhere, the problem I think you'll have will be identifying the manufacturer for the perfect fit within the connector block and to mate with the opposite plug/socket, my favourite sources for such things are https://uk.rs-online.com/ and https://uk.farnell.com/

Cut, solder, seal with heat shrink tubing.
Works for me.

Thanks for the replies chaps, that Farnell site looks promising for the connecting pins. Now need to order some of those little tools for removing them from the blocks.
