Well I bought my W203!! Midnight Blue 2004.

Need some advice on how to replace casing for wing mirror. I have found the diagram on EPC and have got instructions on how to remove from MBworld

http://forums.mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=87118&highlight=remove+mirrors

Last piece of the jigsaw is ordering the part from http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/buy/default.aspx?ShowAssoc=A20381002645904

However there's one thing I don't understand ........... on the picture which I will try and attach there are 2 parts that look the same, the housing frame and the panelling. Given that what I am trying to do is just repair cosmetic damage so I need both? They look the same on the diagram? Any ideas?

You might say just take it to the dealers! But I thought I might have a go myself.

Will ask questions later on lacquer scratches, polishing etc!!

Cheers

I think that the Benz world thread is awful,

Prise off the triangle cover on the inside of the door from the top, unplug mirroe connecter, then remove the 3 screws.

Mirror is off the car.
push the glass in ar the bottom, and you will see a wire clip along the top.unhooh the clip and the glass lifts out, reveallinf the 4 screws that hold it all together.
If you want to know how to paint it ask.

This is small enough to be able to use aerosols ,get the base coat and top clear from Halfords,,it will need several coats of each and you flat with 1200 paper for the first 2 coats. leave each coat at least 4 hours between coats, and do not try and cover all in one go. When finished, flat again, and polish up with T cut
